 Artemis Research is a leading Principal Investigator and Patient Focused clinical research company dedicated to advancing medical treatments. Established in 2008 by colleagues who bring more than 50 years of combined research experience, Artemis specializes in Psychiatry/Neurology and Internal Medicine studies. With multiple locations serving Southern California including San Diego, San Marcos and Riverside, each Artemis site is fully equipped to conduct complex clinical research trials. 


Position Overview:

Artemis is looking for a Vice President of Sales and Marketing.  Under the supervision of the Chief Executive Officer, the VP of Sales and Marketing is responsible for overseeing patient recruitment activities, business development with pharmaceutical clients, and all company marketing initiatives, while adhering to the core values of the company. This includes optimization of the department structure, direct management of staff, achievement of recruitment and revenue targets for all company locations, creation of KPIs for the department, and the strategy and execution of all marketing efforts

Position Type: Full time 5 days/week

Pay Range: TBD based on experience 

Travel: Some travel between sites required


Work Schedule:  Monday – Thursday 8:30am – 5:00 pm and Fridays 8:30am – 3:00 pm; 


Required Education and Experience:  

  • Bachelor’s Degree or higher required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing or Business Administration, or other discipline relevant to Sales and Marketing is preferred.
  • Master’s degree in Business Administration or technical discipline preferred.
  • 10+ years’ experience in a related field required
  • 5+ years in a leadership role required at a Director level or above
  • Track record of scaling up a business desired
  • Experience in life sciences not required. We are open to cross-industry pollination.

Key Outcomes:  

  • Increase number of qualified screens of patients into trials by 10%
  • Full oversight of pharmaceutical facing business development activities
  • Analyze call center metrics and optimize the call center processes and schedule to enhance the patient experience and boost recruitment efforts 
  • Reduce cost of acquisition for patients by 10%
  • Oversight and build out of revised company website
  • Meet or exceed company patient recruitment and revenue targets



  • Able to develop systems and operational flow to optimize efficiency and quality
  • Able to train and develop managers and other staff
  • Direct experience driving an inside sales team to achieve results
  • Direct experience working with Salesforce as a Customer Relationship Management (CRM) system
  • Direct experience using a marketing automation tool, for example Pardot
  • High degree of organization and planning
  • A team player who can receive and provide constructive feedback
  • Able to hire “A” players onto the team
  • A strong belief in the value of a corporate culture
  • Able to expand and oversee multiple locations across geographic areas successfully
  • Hard working with the ability to “roll up the sleeves” and willing to assist the team as needed
  • High level of effective communication
