Artemis Research is a leading Principal Investigator and Patient Focused clinical research company dedicated to advancing medical treatments. Established in 2008 by colleagues who bring more than 50 years of combined research experience, Artemis specializes in Psychiatry/Neurology and Internal Medicine studies. With multiple locations serving Southern California including San Diego and Riverside, each Artemis site is fully equipped to conduct complex clinical research trials. 

Position Overview:

Artemis is looking for a Clinic/Site Manager or Director for our San Diego office.  Under the supervision of the Director of Operations, the Manager’s role is to implement operational processes and systems to ensure the highest level of patient satisfaction and quality of data.  The Manager also coaches and mentors all the site staff so that each can reach their highest potential and contribute to a strong performing team.  In addition, the Clinic/Site Manager or Director is the champion for screening, patient retention, and meeting or exceeding the monthly enrollment and financial targets.

Required Education and Experience:  

 

  • Strong experience in clinical research is preferred
  • Experience managing in a medical setting is required
  • Experience in people management and management best practices is required

 

Description of Responsibilities: 

 

  • Staff management and proactive assessment of staffing needs to include hiring, training, and coaching/mentoring staff with monthly one to one meetings
  • Provide mentorship and guidance to team members and cross-functional staff on study processes and study requirements
  • Manage site workflow to ensure that patients/subjects, staff, and sponsors have the best customer service experience
  • Oversight of study management including timely review of monitor reports and associated study deliverables

  • Create risk management plans and mitigation strategies as part of study-start up management

  • Responsible for site and study audits and inspections as needed

  • Identify, assess, and work to resolve site performance and quality/compliance issues

  • Perform and lead sponsor/CRO site visits, including but not limited to, site selection site initiation, quality visits, and perform close out visits as needed

  • Coordinate and manage various tasks in collaboration with the QC & Regulatory Manager to achieve site readiness for timely first patient first visit
  • Obtain and maintain in-depth understanding of the study protocols and related procedures in order to contribute to the study team knowledge by sharing best practices, making recommendations for continuous improvement and providing training as needed/required
  • Management of site facilities, including the pharmacy and laboratory

  • Responsible for external vendor management to include onboarding of site partners, oversight, and training

  • Ensure site meets monthly screening, randomization, and completion/retention goals by assessing scheduling, troubleshooting, and maximizing staff availability

  • Follow a quality process as outlined in the Site's SOP's to ensure the site collects and enters high quality data and to reduce preventable deviations 

  • Ensure the site has high morale and works well as a team and meets our cultural goals and expectations

   

Skills/Competencies:  

 

  • Strong experience in clinical research and people management and management best practices

  • Able to ensure site staff follow established systems to optimize efficiency and quality 

  • Able to hire “A” players onto the team

  • Able to train and develop staff 

  • High degree of organization and planning:  Plan, organizes, schedules in an efficient, productive manner, focusing on key priorities

  • High level of communication:  Speaks and writes clearly and articulately without being verbose 

  • The ability to motivate and inspire a team to function at its highest capacity

  • A strong work ethic:  Willing to step in to assist the team when needed
