Software Engineering Manager

S/W Engineering | Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam | Full Time

Job Description

The Position

We are looking for a seasoned hands-on software engineering leader who will lead a team to build and continuously improve the state-of-the-art product that focuses on the discovery, visualization, monitoring, and access control of critical networks. Our ideal candidate will have grown from being a great software engineer into a respected engineering manager or senior architect at a product company who is ready to step up to the next level. This is an exciting opportunity to re-engineer the market-leading product from the ground up and move the product for hyper-growth. The Engineering Manager will work across software and hardware and develop deep partnerships with our UX designers, product managers, and subject matter experts to deliver products for the critical infrastructure sector. You will have an opportunity to build a new team and work with both local and remote engineering teams around the world.


What You Will Be Doing

  • Drive the execution and delivery of engineering goals by collaborating with many cross-functional teams, architects, and product managers

  • Drive technology roadmap

  • Build a new local team and expand in our global locations 

  • Being part of the overall architecture and key components design for the current and future framework

  • Proactively communicate issues and resolve escalations with customer-facing teams like support and sales

  • Fostering a learning culture that optimizes for speed and agility while obsessing about the consumer

  • Partner with PM team to align with objectives, priorities, and risks

  • Keep up-to-date with modern development technologies and methodologies 

  • Empowering the product engineering team to be self-sufficient and disciplined

  • Motivate the product team to go above and beyond with continuous delivery and innovation

  • Execute and update the career path development for engineering team members, working with the HR department


What We Need From You

  • 4+ years experience leading an engineering organization at a product company is preferred

  • Ability to initiate design and implement new product lines end to end

  • Proven experience with implementing software engineering industry best practices and SDLC, including coding standards, code reviews, SCM, CI, build processes, testing, and operations

  • Ability to mentor engineers and help them with career growth

  • Experience in collaboration with engineer teams in multiple countries

  • Outstanding communication skills with the ability to present complex issues to a wide range of audiences including executives, partners/vendors, internal teams, and external audiences

  • Experience with agile development, rapid release cycles, and supporting customer-oriented solutions

  • Proven track record working with cross-functional teams and coordinating the effort in a distributed environment 

  • Strong organizational and time management skills

  • Excellent command of English

  • Good knowledge in the computer networks, including but not limited to network topology, network nodes/ devices, communication protocols/ OSI model...

  • Experience with MEAN/ MERN/ MEVN stack and microservice structures


It would be nice If you had

  • Cybersecurity domain experience, including file security, device security, network security, etc.
  • Hardware and network engineering experiences

  • Cloud engineering experiences including but not limited to AWS, Azure, and Google Cloud

  • Knowledge or experience with OT (Operational Technology) systems / ICS (Industrial Control System)/ CPS (Cyber-Physical System)
