Product Marketing Manager

Marketing | New York, NY | Full Time

Job Description

About Gro:

Gro Intelligence is tackling two of the biggest problems facing the world today: food security and climate change. We understand and quantify the complex interplay between food, weather, trade, agriculture, and macroeconomic conditions in a world upended by climate change, a growing population, and more. The team at Gro has built a platform that allows businesses, non-profits, and governments to better plan for and adapt to these changes. With offices in both Nairobi and New York, Gro has the financial backing of prominent investors such as TPG Growth, Intel Capital, Data Collective, and GGV. Gro is a diverse, intellectually curious team of technologists, scientists, and business professionals united by a shared commitment to build AI that addresses agriculture, food, and our climate on the most fundamental level.

Gro Intelligence is looking for a Product Marketing Manager to explain the value of the Gro platform and agriculture and climate use cases to different audiences. In partnership with the Product team, you will be responsible for driving product and feature adoption. And in partnership with the Sales and Customer Success teams, you will promote the data, the use cases, and the features that are relevant to each customer group.

You will be in charge of positioning, packaging, and promoting Gro Intelligence’s products and hitting measurable goals. This role enables you to get to know our prospects and users, to share in the product development process, to organize product launches from beginning to end, and to build campaigns to drive use of the platform.

The PMM role is ideal for someone who wants to understand the complex evolution of unique agriculture and climate intelligence and their role in decision making. Our clients have constantly expanding options for insights and data sources, but they have limited time and high expectations to make the best possible decisions. This role seeks to understand those pressures and to leverage the Gro data, visualizations, features, and platform overall to build a solution for clients in:

  • Food & Beverage - the companies involved in processing raw food materials, packaging and distributing them.

  • Agribusiness - the businesses involved in all steps to send agricultural goods to market.

  • Retail - the companies selling food directly to consumers.

  • Seed, Crop Insurance, and Fertilizer - the businesses involved in selling all resources involved in producing food and farm commodities.

  • Financial and physical traders of commodities

What You'll Do:

  • Lead and project manage the execution of high impact programs to drive product adoption and usage

  • Listen to and understand prospective buyers and users on their pain points

  • Work with the product team on product launches and track adoption

  • In the sales process, build materials to align Gro Intelligence products to the multiple customer types

  • Once the sale is complete, build and track campaigns to drive adoption of the Gro platform

  • Build and track internal metrics to show the effectiveness and ROI of your marketing programs

What We're Looking For:

  • Passion for understanding customers and building solutions around their pain points

  • 2-5 years of product or product marketing experience

    • Interest in user insight, creative problem-solving, and shipping often and on-time

  • Interest in agriculture and climate impact

  • Preferred experience in data and analytics products

  • BA/BS degree with evidence of academic and extracurricular excellence

  • Strategic, disciplined, and drives projects forward

  • Amazing communication skills, written and verbal

  • Team player: Aggressive toward the problem, collegial with colleagues

    • Ability to understand and empathize with Product, Engineering and Sales colleagues simultaneously

  • Well-developed sense of humor

  • Comfort in informal and fast-paced environments

Perks:
