Gro is looking to bring on a Director of Recruiting to design and oversee our company’s recruiting and hiring processes. 

What you’ll do:

The Director of Recruiting will work closely with our hiring managers on team design, job requirements, and creating job descriptions.  The Director of Recruiting will manage all candidate sourcing, conduct pre-screens, establish consistent interviewing procedures, and will oversee the entire candidate life-cycle.  You will play a key role in maintaining our employer brand and help to develop strong talent pipelines for current and future needs.  This person should have an appetite for finding creative sourcing solutions and the ability to work and be flexible across teams.  The Director of Recruiting will develop strong internal relationships to ensure commitments are met, appropriate expectations are set, and needs are responded to.  A passion and understanding of our business, culture, and the importance of cross-pollination amongst teams is a must.  The successful candidate will have had prior experience screening and evaluating candidates.. Candidates should also be knowledgeable about labor legislation and have experience working across global offices. The Director of Recruiting will be a leader who is able to make decisions quickly and communicate effectively with a diverse group of stakeholders.  Ultimately, the Director of Recruiting will ensure Gro’s recruiting strategies attract, evaluate, and hire qualified and diverse candidates across all levels of the organization, now and for the future.  You will be responsible for all aspects of the hiring process from job posting through offer.

Responsibilities:

  • Assess and update current recruiting procedures and design new ones as needed, including application processes, onboarding, etc

  • Deliver a best in class candidate experience

  • Handle all resume filtering and pre-screening of candidates 

  • Convey and share information, feedback, and ideas with others clearly and concisely

  • Serve as a thought partner to hiring managers while remaining hands-on and willing to get into the nitty gritty

  • Keep track of recruiting metrics including sourcing, time-to-hire, cost-of-hire, etc and provide leadership with relevant data and analytics

  • Manage headhunter relationships

  • Implement new sourcing methods (e.g. social recruiting and Boolean searches)

  • Review recruitment software and suggest the best option for company needs

  • Research and choose new job advertising options and manage all job postings

  • Advise hiring managers on interviewing techniques and providing feedback; suggest training as needed

  • Equip the team with recruiting best practices

  • Recommend ways to improve our employer brand

  • Demonstrate a commitment to and exemplify Gro’s core values

  • Stay up-to-date on labor legislation and inform company leadership about changes in regulations

  • Build the company’s professional network through relationships with HR professionals, colleges, and other partners

  • Support our strategic recruiting initiatives as they come; internships, events, etc

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have prior full life-cycle recruiting experience in-house as a Recruiting Manager, Recruitment Consultant, or Coordinator

  • Experience in a collaborative, fast-paced environment

  • Proven ability to manage a number of processes at once; client-oriented

  • Experience with Applicant Tracking Systems and HR databases

  • Knowledge of labor legislation

  • Experience with interviewing, candidate screening, and evaluation

  • Familiarity with social media and other professional networks (like GitHub)

  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal - ability to not miss the forest for the trees 

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong management skills

  • Strong decision-making skills; sound judgment

  • Bachelor's degree or higher
