A leading podcast and audiobook company is seeking a Copywriter. The successful candidate will be developing compelling social media concepts and copy for a variety of our organic owned and operated social media channels that range from day-to-day posts to larger campaigns, to overseeing all stages of work on external workstreams. The ideal candidate has 5+ years of experience with a concentration on organic social media. The company offers a great work environment!

Copywriter Pay and Benefits:

  • Hourly pay: $70-$80/hr
  • Worksite: Leading podcast and audiobook company (Newark, NJ 07102 - Hybrid, Open to remote candidates located in the United States)
  • W2 Employment, Group Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Retirement Savings Program
  • 40 hours/week, 3 Month Assignment

Copywriter Responsibilities:

  • Developing compelling social media concepts and copy for a variety of our organic owned and operated social media channels that range from day-to-day posts, to larger campaigns, to overseeing all stages of work on external workstreams.
  • Applying nuance and optimization when creating and writing content for each social platform.
  • Understanding tactics of driving consumer awareness, fan engagement and conversation, and click-through on social in creative ways.
  • Developing and overseeing social post and campaign concepts and copy for both static and video posts.
  • Writing in the English language, but with a global mindset and for a global audience experience.
  • Responding to marketing briefs with a strategic, comprehensive, and creative solution.
  • Creating strong messaging and copy that is catered to the needs of various stages of a messaging funnel and social touchpoints within a larger marketing plan.
  • Researching cultural shifts, trends, and fan-bases and applying learnings into actionable takeaways applicable to each project.
  • Being plugged into the cultural zeitgeist and social media conversation, and having a point of view on how the company can engage in social trends, or why they should not.
  • Reviewing, editing and revising social media brand guideline toolkits for clear communication and consistency.
  • Interpreting ours brand guidelines and ensuring all work stays consistent with the established tone of voice.
  • Overseeing social concepts and copy from external workstreams from inception to execution, to ensure the content is human, authentic, and entertaining, and that our tone of voice is consistent and on-brand.
  • Leveraging effective use of tactical copy approaches on social media like character counts, hashtags, link in bios, and other features.
  • Understanding the primary audience on each social media platform and how they engage with content, and creatively using native features each platform offers (eg. Stories, Polls, Reels, etc.).
  • Intuitively knowing how to tell a story on behalf of a brand and how to make that brand feel both human and organic to each social platform.
  • Collaborating effectively with team members—designers, art directors, editors, creative directors and marketing partners.
  • Helping with overall organization on the team and helping iterate workflows when there is an opportunity to streamline.
  • Managing your time effectively whether within a group or when you’re working independently.
  • Elevating the quality and consistency of our social media presence across all platforms, globally.

Copywriter Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience with a concentration on organic social media. You must be a passionate user of social media and understand, at a minimum, the social behavior and features across Instagram, Facebook, Twitter, YouTube, and TikTok.
  • Experience working on international brands at the agency or brand level where quick turnaround times & robust volume of content are the norms and you actively create a culture of innovation, collaboration, excellence and accountability.
  • Excellent collaborator across highly matrixed teams, with clear, excellent communication around project status, deadlines and roadblocks.
  • Strong understanding of best practices across social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, Tik-Tok) and how they can be used to create great content.
  • Strong portfolio of national brand work.
  • Strong communicator and partner.
  • Ability to prioritize your time and work with deadlines.
  • Experience collaborating with external agencies and vendors.
